Given the newfound popularity of Oasis as such, owing to their 2025 Reunion Tour, it made complete sense for the group to remaster and reissue this classic album, 30 years on from the exact release date. This special release by Oasis is the main album remastered, with several extra songs stripped down and delivered acoustically. These were never-before-released songs, which makes the whole package much more exciting as a result. The original album itself was a huge success for Oasis, selling many millions of copies worldwide and cemented the band’s success even further. This helped surge the interest in the so-called Britpop movement of the 1990s, with particular attention being paid to Oasis and their rivals Blur. Documentaries are also available on YouTube to view about this classic album release, especially from the likes of James Hargreaves. Many critics worldwide consider this album a must-have for any music fan. Let’s take a listen to this remastered album, and we shall hear what the story is.
1. Hello launches the album into action with the Wonderwall chords being played outside the studio where the album was recorded, on a wall. Birds chirping are in the background. Soon enough, wah-wah guitars enter, and this song gets going. It still sounds fantastic today. Liam Gallagher sings aggressively and melodically on this song, and the whole group sound fantastic as well. Alan White’s drumming is absolutely fantastic to listen to as well. An iconic song about the difficulties of dealing with a troublesome person in one’s life. Nonetheless, this is an amazing song with some glorious musicianship from all involved. An absolutely solid gold song, no matter how many times you hear it. A crescendo-like climax emerges, with an excerpt stolen from Gary Glitter. A seriously great song to hear. Just wonderful. The outro has some loud and impressive guitars to listen to. Brilliant.
2. Roll With It begins with fuzzy overdriven guitars and quickly launches into action. This is another really great song at hand. Liam Gallagher sings with passion and belief on this one. This is a gorgeous yet rocking song that is sung sweetly about the possibilities that life brings and a potential for love at hand. The harmonies on this song are absolutely joyously wonderful as well. The guitar solo section sounds brilliant and upbeat, which is ironic, given the concept of this album. Nonetheless, this is a wonderful song that any Oasis fan should be able to recognise. A great listening experience that is fantastic and wonderfully upbeat to hear. This is real music that will never, ever die. Oasis blends rhythm and melody perfectly on this song. Just absolutely mint. The outro is chaotic. It ends with Noel coughing once.
3. Wonderwall is Oasis’s most loved song. It begins with some awesome acoustic guitar strumming and leads into a sweet and unique song that continues the story. Liam Gallagher sings really brilliantly on this song, and evokes emotions that you never thought existed. This has some sweet and tuneful acoustic guitars, electric guitars, bass guitar, E-Bow and drumming to match Liam’s vocals. A seriously wonderful and fantastic listening experience, despite some may stating that this is overplayed. Despite that, this wonderful song deserves its place in music history. Absolutely solid gold to listen to, even 30 years on. A seriously wonderful song that is heartfelt and touching. A great, great song. If you haven’t heard this song, then you really need to. It is sweet and tender emotionally. Absolutely awesome music from start to finish. The outro has a piano part that is very beautiful, with the rest of the band playing along. Excellent. This song ends with an acoustic version of the Supersonic riff.
4. Don’t Look Back In Anger begins with the piano part stolen from John Lennon’s Imagine, and quickly launches into a fantastic electric guitar-driven tune at hand. Noel Gallagher sings this amazing song, and he sounds upbeat and reflects on his life experiences. He sounds emotionally charged and powerful on this song. A terrific effort, and Alan White’s drumming is truly fantastic on this song as well. This is a true music statement from 1995 that still has a genuine and powerful effect on the listener today. “Please don’t put your life in the hands of a Rock and Roll band, who’ll throw it all away…” is an ironic lyric, given that Oasis truly cares about their fans. Sensationally uplifting, rocking and beautiful all in one. A seriously great tune here. The guitar solo present here is also fantastic to hear, and pulsates with searing energy throughout, followed by a mammoth drum roll, before the final section is played. A truly fantastic song to listen to. Brilliant effort by Noel Gallagher and Oasis. The ending is reflective, and has Noel begging the listener not to look back in anger, “…at least not today”. Excellent.
5. Hey Now! is a bit more like an Oasis Definitely Maybe (1994) styled song. It has loud guitars and pounding drums, with Liam Gallagher singing in a reflective and pondering manner. This is about the travels and pitfalls that a life of fame can give one. This is a brilliant song about not running away from the difficulties and chaos that fame and fortune can bring. “Feel no shame, because time’s no chain” is an excellent lyric by Noel Gallagher. This is likely the least popular song on this album, but it is nonetheless easy enough to sit through. An amazingly layered and structured song, with mind-blowing guitar sounds and keyboards to match it all. The guitar solo section is simple, yet very wonderful to listen to. Handclaps are present as well. A very, very good song to listen to and enjoy. Nonetheless, another masterwork by Oasis. The only real issue with this song is that it is somewhat repetitive. Not to worry, this is still an amazing listen for what it is. A great, great song at hand, which has vision and purpose in life. Liam sounds in fine form with his vocals as well. Another fantastic song to listen to. Really outstanding, even for a lesser tune on this album. Great to hear.
6. The Swamp Song (Excerpt 1) is a sample of the live song played frequently at Oasis gigs. It is less than a minute long and is quite quirky in its own way. Cool stuff to listen to.
7. Some Might Say was the band’s first UK #1. It begins with a heavy Rock guitar riff and quickly launches into action at hand. This is a midtempo rocker that sounds euphoric and fantastic, despite the lyrics expressing despair. Liam Gallagher sings very, very well on this song indeed. It is a piece of reflective beauty at hand that has character, youth and vigour throughout. “Some might say, we will find a brighter day,” indeed. This is a fantastically catchy and unique song that has power and glory throughout. The guitar solo section is really quite interesting and sounds appropriately different. This is a powerful Rock Music song that questions the meaning and existence of life as well. The whole band plays with a sense of purpose in their mission to create great music at hand. An absolutely fantastic and monumental song that deserves to be heard by more people out there. A great Pop/Rock tune that is worth every moment. The call-and-response vocals at the end are very awesome and fantastic to listen to. The extended outro is sublime and has a really cool guitar solo to match it all. Fantastic song to hear. Great to hear, time and time again.
8. Cast No Shadow is an acoustic guitar-based ballad with slide guitar as well. Keyboard strings emerge, and this tune gets going very well. This is a simple and enjoyable, more tender side of Oasis. Telling the tale of someone who has lost all hope, this song was dedicated to The Verve singer Richard Ashcroft in the album notes. This song is again fantastic and reveals a side of Oasis that many would never think would have existed. “As he faced the sun, he cast no shadow…” reveals a man distraught by the surrounding events in his life, be it real or metaphorical. This song is quite repetitive for its simplicity, but then again, this is a solid tune, just like the others on this album. A very cool song to listen to throughout, which is refreshing in its musicality. A really lovely listen, even if it reflects the depths of a man at his lowest. A great song, nonetheless, which works very well. Oasis never fails to deliver on this album, and rightfully deserves credit on this song as well. Excellent music.
9. She’s Electric is very much the Digsy’s Dinner styled song on this album. It begins with some delightful piano, guitars and drumming, with a pseudo-Country Music flavour to it all. This is a nonsensical piece of music lyrically, but it is whimsical and excellent enough to please listeners, although Oasis never played this one live. Liam Gallagher sings an upbeat and refreshing set of vocals throughout. Sure, he sticks to his template of John Lennon/John Lydon imitation, but he sounds much more specific and broad-ranging in his singing abilities on this album. There are quite a few quirky and different lyrics throughout that make little sense. This is a pretty and often overlooked gem from the album that has its own flavour and approach to it all. A great and interesting listen throughout, which sounds upbeat and euphoric. The outro lifts some of the harmonies from The Beatles With A Little Help From My Friends, but this is a wonderful tune indeed.
10. Morning Glory begins with the sound of helicopters, samples of vocals and an iconic electric guitar riff being played. Pounding drums enter, and this tune gets moving. This is, of course, a song that openly mentions cocaine use, but that is entirely the intention of it all. Liam Gallagher sings well and wonderfully about the experiences that one can have under the influence. A fantastic song that sounds pretty, divine and awesome. This is also very, very catchy and sounds very much like a fantastic, ballsy Rock Music song. A winner, and although taking drugs is not recommended, this song makes one want to do so. A seriously top-notch song that articulates the ups and downs of drug use in general, this is outstanding and cool music that sounds incredibly catchy and interesting. The outro is lengthy, but absolutely awesome to listen to. You be the judge on whether you should take drugs or not, but this is a great song about it. The guitars at the end are loud and proud. Another fantastic song, which segues into the next tune.
11. The Swamp Song (Excerpt 2) is a mixture of The Swamp Song recording with some other sounds, including the sound of rushing water. Not bad, and less than a minute long. It segues into the next track.
12. Champagne Supernova continues the water rushing sounds from before, alongside some absolutely gorgeous guitar playing and instrumentation throughout. This is a truly beautiful song to listen to. Liam Gallagher sings profoundly and beautifully on this song, as the final song on this unofficial concept album. This is very, very touching musically. It will tug away at your heartstrings and make you value the listening experience 100%. This is also semi-psychedelic in its own way as well. Drumming by Alan White powers this along nicely as well. The chorus gets quite loud, with Liam Gallagher singing to a gargantuan amount of guitars and sounding absolutely awesome on this tune. With references to being born and dying throughout, this is exactly what those who love intelligent Rock Music need to hear. The guitar solos throughout are supremely awesome as well. The song is a seven-minute-long piece of masterwork. This song will definitely put a smile on your face. It has a euphoric feel to it all. Truly touching music. The song progresses nicely into the second half, which has dual guitar solos by Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller (of The Jam). Seriously great music to listen to. Some na-na-nas emerge as well, which sound really fantastic to hear. An awesome and mindblowing song that sounds brilliant. Eventually, this gets quieter towards the end, and the band plays on nicely. The outro has Liam Gallagher’s repeated lyric lines, and he sings very beautifully indeed. The Morning Glory story is now complete, and one is truly thankful and grateful for the ride. Excellent listening, it ends with various sections of instrumentation playing along nicely, with some sustained keyboards to conclude and end with.

This is a fantastic version of the original song at hand, and it is wonderfully suitable, both as an acoustic song and the main version. Noel’s harmonies are absolutely sublime and wonderful throughout as well. A really great listen, with some unique piano parts soloing nicely throughout it as well. A seriously enjoyable and wonderful song to listen to. The outro is absolutely gorgeous, and Oasis makes a sturdy impression throughout. Brilliant. It ends with a piano solo amongst the stripped-back, acoustic instrumentation. Fantastic.
3. Wonderwall (Unplugged) is a smooth and sweet acoustic guitar and keyboard-driven version of the song at hand. It sounds truly beautiful, and Liam Gallagher sings euphorically and wonderfully throughout this song. This launches into an expansive and enjoyable version of the main song at hand. This is even more magical in some ways than the original. One can definitely hear the passion and emotion from within this song. This is a pretty, unique and enjoyable song which sounds so deeply emotional and wonderful. It plays and progresses very nicely, and sounds unbelievably great. A sensational version of the classic song at hand, which is absolutely killer. It leads into the moving chorus. To be fair and honest, this is a mindblowing listen that is extremely rewarding. A nice addition to Oasis’s back catalogue of songs. Brilliant work. Incredibly moving. The piano solo at the end is sweet.
4. Acquiesce (Unplugged) begins with some laughter and chatter about Liam sacking Noel Gallagher. This song quickly gets started in a pure and melodic way. It sounds really great. This is a more subtle and profound version of the classic song. Liam Gallagher sings nicely and triumphantly about the bond that human beings can have with one another. Noel Gallagher sings the chorus in a very passionate and expressive way throughout as well. This is sensational listening, and makes one hear the emotion within the Gallagher brothers throughout. Just top. The outro is very awesome as well. The finale is golden, and this tune ends very well. There is some studio chatter to conclude with.
5. Champagne Supernova (Unplugged) sounds very trippy and psychedelic to begin with. Some neat, reversed guitars and sounds emerge as this song launches into action. Liam Gallagher sings beautifully and with natural ease on this song. This builds up into the chorus a sweet and wonderful nature. It seems a little faster than the album version, but no matter. It has some neat acoustic guitars, piano and electronic sounds throughout. The music and performances on this song are absolutely stunning and gorgeous throughout. “Someday you will find me, caught beneath the landslide, in a Champagne Supernova, in the sky…” is an awesome lyric that has strength and purpose. This music is English Soul Music for those of you who need to hear such a thing. Acoustic guitar solos are present here as well. It gets more layered as time goes on, and sounds absolutely brilliant as a piece of music to hear. This sounds like a direction by Oasis that should have been explored more. No matter, this is a brilliant and touching listen. Liam Gallagher puts in a fantastic effort on this song. The na-na-nas that follow with bongos and acoustic guitars truly sound great. An absolutely strong and indefeatable listen. Truly great. The harmonies are sweet, too. It begins to wrap up with acoustic guitar soloing and finishes with the final vocals. Sensationally beautiful to listen to. It ends with the rushing water sounds from the main version of the song.
This re-release is a must-have, not just for Oasis fans but for music fans in general. Oasis were not just the biggest band of the 1990s (after Nirvana), but their music strikes a chord and impression on their dedicated and loyal fanbase to this very day. This album release should be heard by music fans at least once in their lifetime. The extra tracks are wonderful, too. So yes, this is a necessary and essential listen for Oasis, who have bravely decided to keep on going in 2025. Brilliant work.
