Quick Verdict: A good but imperfect representation of how Oasis sounds in the 21st century
Although the massive Oasis Reunion tour of 2025 has, at the time of writing, come to a close, it has been a huge international success. In addition, it seems that Liam and Noel Gallagher have finally put aside the major differences and issues that they had with each other as well. They have often been seen in a joyous mood, hugging each other on stage and being very gracious to one another overall in public. This is great news for both fans of Oasis and Rock Music in general, as younger generations have embraced guitar-based music once again after many years of 2-bit digital celebrities making music with laptops. In any case, for those who missed out on the massive tour (and there were many of you), this is the final single EP release from the tour. It contains five live songs, recorded at various venues across the UK and Ireland. Let’s explore this EP release, and hopefully it will not be Oasis’s final release.
1. Wonderwall (Live from Dublin, 16 August ’25) is from (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? (1995). It begins with the crowd cheering and applauding, and Liam talks to the crowd, introducing the song at hand. Acoustic guitar strumming enters, and this is a much more upbeat and live performance that sounds wonderfully energetic. It launches into a fairly good rendition of the album version, although Liam’s voice is somewhat aged here. Despite that, this is a fantastic listening experience that strikes emotion into one’s heart. This is a good listening experience that proves that, indeed, Oasis can still muster up the magic at hand of their music in a live setting. Awesome to hear. Oasis has got their act back together. They revisit the spirit of their classic songs. Towards the end, the crowd sing along, and it sounds truly like a band for the people. A fantastic rendition of their most famous song. Awesome music to listen to, no matter if you know anything about Oasis or not. Very wonderful. The outro is very pretty. Liam talks to the crowd to conclude.
2. Bring It On Down (Live from Edinburgh, 9 August ’25) is from Definitely Maybe (1994). It begins with a fade-in of crowd cheering, and launches into a great piece of tom-tom drumming, guitar work and magnificent ambience. Oasis really truly cares about their fans. It quickly launches into a terrific rendition of the original song, even if Liam’s singing has seen better days. All the same, this is a really wonderful and excellent tune that has some ferocity and character to it. This is a pure blast of Punk Rock energy that will get fans moving. The crowd claps very quickly along to this tune, and the midsection is quite cool to hear. Oasis proves exactly why fans love them; their music is raw and real compared to most other types of music out there. A really sensationally good listen, and the outro is superb to hear. Noel Gallagher solos away very nicely on his custom Gibson Les Paul with P-90 pickups. This ends with some neat wah-wah guitar and has the crowd cheering nicely.
3. Little By Little (Live from London, 2 August ’25) is from Heathen Chemistry (2002). It begins with some eerie electronic sounds, and quickly launches into a great-sounding version of the original song. Noel Gallagher sings quite nicely on this song, and he proves that his musical presence is equal to his brother’s. This is a beautiful and wonderful song that has a power and finesse about it all. Noel sounds like a great singer in his own way. With some age and wisdom on him, Noel Gallagher is indeed one of the wisest people in Rock Music today, as the NME originally pointed out. A seriously fantastic tune to listen to, this music is very sing-along and anthemic throughout. The guitar solo is also very fantastic and energetic to listen to. A really great tune that has some power and glory. This is real music, made by Oasis. A fantastic listen from beginning to end. The outro is sweet and sublime to listen to. A truly great song to listen to. A very nicely layered piece of music throughout. Awesome stuff.
4. Cigarettes & Alcohol (Live from Manchester, 11 July ’25) is from Definitely Maybe (1994). It begins with a guitar volume swell before leading into the mammoth guitar riff at hand. This sounds absolutely upbeat and joyously fantastic, although Liam Gallagher’s voice is less than enjoyable on this song. A great, great song to listen to. Too bad Liam sounds like he is shot to bits vocally nowadays. Even so, one can hear how fine and in form the band is. It is a great listen from start to finish, and it sounds fantastically anthemic throughout. These guys were the bringers of great music back in the 1990s, and this continues on, for the most part, to this very day. All in all, this music has a tremendous power and energy to it. This sounds very raw and rocking throughout. The guitar solo outro is fantastic as always by Oasis. “You’ve gotta make it happen” is a true statement about life itself. This is followed by a thrilling guitar solo by Noel Gallagher. Not too bad to listen to.
5. Slide Away (Live from Cardiff, 4 July ’25) is from Definitely Maybe (1994). It begins with crowd chanting, and quickly launches into a different-sounding version of the original song. It sounds really moving and glorious. Liam Gallagher’s singing is far from good here; it is simply abysmal. Sure, he is doing his best, but to be frank, he doesn’t sound anywhere near as good as he did on the original tune. Even so, this moment recorded is not that bad. It is just killed by the rather ordinary singing. Regardless, this is a great song to listen to otherwise. The sounds and music do take the listener to a better place overall. The guitar solo section is magnificent, and Noel Gallagher plays a mean axe on this one. All in all, superb. This song sounds very much like the sound of a band that is ready to bring Rock Music back into the mainstream. If you ever hear Oasis and hear this song, in particular, it is truly a magical music moment to listen to. This still has its appeal in 2025, and rightly so. A sweet music moment. The outro is fantastic, with both Liam and Noel Gallagher singing in unison, leading into the grand finale. This is followed by a loud and punchy guitar solo that sounds really great. A really cool music listen at hand, and something all Oasis fans should appreciate.
This is not a perfect listen. Liam Gallagher’s singing is past its peak by this stage in 2025. However, having said that, it sounds like a great snapshot of the massive world tour that has just concluded. Be warned that if you really want to hear Oasis in their prime, take a listen to Definitely Maybe (1994) or What’s the Story (Morning Glory?) (1995) albums first before hearing this. Oasis fans will certainly love this release, but most others will not.
