This is where Frank Sinatra’s career really began to take off. His earlier efforts made with other record companies had been failures, both critically and commercially. Sinatra himself was doubting his self-worth and career as a result of being pushed around by others. He needn’t have doubted himself. This album is well received from this time, although it is not seen as consistent as In The Wee Small Hours or Songs For Swingin’ Lovers! that were released later on in the decade. This is a very short listen for Frank Sinatra, at just under 20 minutes in length. Still, let’s take a listen to the music and hopefully the material is good enough here to enjoy.

Just One Of Those Things begins with some classy and Jazzy instrumentation. Frank Sinatra quickly enters, and boy, he can sing well here. This is an upbeat and pleasant listening experience that is phenomenally great. Instantly, one can say that this is a great song just by listening to it. Frank Sinatra proves himself to be the king of Crooners, and delivers a fantastic tune for all to enjoy. The music is about a love affair, set to beautiful Jazz based structures and playing. Frank Sinatra is full of joy here, and he is totally aware that he has struck gold in his musical career at this point. A fantastic listening experience, and one of Frank Sinatra’s best songs to listen to. A great tune, likely the sort of Crooner music that James Bond would listen to, it is amazing to hear. Great music, without a doubt. A must listen from this album.

I’m Gonna Sit Right Down (And Write Myself A Letter) begins with a great backing band with gorgeous trumpets and other instruments playing. Frank Sinatra leads into some fine and gorgeous singing about a self-written letter that sounds really quite good. He sounds so full of happiness and sings in such a giddy way that no doubt the listener will appreciate this wonderful tune. There is a xylophone solo as well, and this whole thing sounds consistent and wonderful to listen to. A really excellent and upbeat tune, Frank Sinatra is finally on track for success and great tunes by this point. Excellent song.

Sunday begins with more Jazz style backing instrumentation and xylophone, before Frank Sinatra quickly enters, singing nicely about the weekends when he can meet a lover that he is interested in. A really amazing, awesome and great tune to hear, especially if you are in love with a significant other. A rich, gorgeous and grandiose sounding tune musically, this is quite clearly a real winner. A fine and fantastic song, this makes sense if you are courting a lover and need some old fashioned and great music to enjoy it with. Awesome.

Wrap Your Troubles In Dreams (And Dream Your Troubles Away) is a bit quirkier melody wise, and Frank Sinatra sings about the rain passing and the sunshine returning, in a joyful and blissful way. Frank himself is on top of his game, and he just sounds euphoric and entertaining here. There is a really good set of wind instrument solos, namely trumpet, that carry this great piece of music along. A really great tune, and something to remember, there is always light at the end of the tunnel (for those of you who feel down upon reading this), realistically speaking. Great music.

Taking A Chance On Love begins with some great brushed percussion, brass section and Frank Sinatra singing in a glorious fashion. He sounds so happy and awesome here, and this is proof that Sinatra himself understood 100% exactly what worked musically for him. He sings of better days ahead, and indeed, this was the case both in the story of this song and his own personal life. A really amazing listen, this still sounds amazing to this very day. A fine, fantastic and wonderful listen, Frank Sinatra pours his heart and soul into these songs. Magical.

Jeepers Creepers is a true classic by Frank Sinatra. There are horns, double bass and Frank Sinatra singing happily about a lady’s eyes which look beautiful. A truly classic tune, this does sound awesome and amazing for what it is. If you want a good dose of Crooner magic by Sinatra, this is a good place on this album to begin with. A trumpet solo is here which sounds absolutely magical. An awesome and enjoyable tune that sounds really amazing, this is an outstanding listening experience. Great music from 1954 that still sounds great today. The conclusion is absolutely marvellous, great job Frankie.

Get Happy begins with a great trumpet led intro, and Frank Sinatra enters, singing nicely about passing on from this Earth and into heaven. A strange tune to listen to, this is very Christian oriented lyrically, but musically is anything but what you would hear from Hillsong. A great, fast paced and pleasant tune to hear. This is a really awesome listening experience anyway, and Frank Sinatra does a great job to listen to here. Fine and fantastic music to hear. Excellent tune. It fades out smoothly.

All Of Me leads right into it with a buttery Frank Sinatra vocal, piano and a swinging Jazz music feel here. Frank himself sings joyfully and in a pleasant way that sounds awesome about being deeply in love with a lady of choice. This is sensationally great music that is uplifting, fabulous and awesome to hear. Frank Sinatra was the king of Crooners, and his music still sounds outstanding to this very day. The percussion gets loud towards the end, and Frank delivers a fantastic finish to this awesome album. Terrific.

This is the earliest Frank Sinatra release worth merit in album form. Still, it sounds amazing to this day and knocks off anyone in the Top 50 of your respective country in terms of positivity and quality as an album to listen to. Frank Sinatra finally was on top of his game, and would never look back. Should you listen to this album? Absolutely, this is a great release, especially for those of you who want a taste of Frankie’s music, and do not know where to begin.

A fantastic, short and sweet album.
